Things that perhaps only I would be interested in:
The Bull & Bones Brewhaus is opening on New Year's Day at the First & Main shopping center. It seems like it might be a grown-up type o' place. We have hopes.
If you haven't been there yet, River Co. Brewery in Radford is definitely worth a visit. It has a beautiful main dining room, and a great view of the river off the balcony (which you can eat on in the summer).
Through Dec. 31, the science museum of SW VA has 6$ admission, which includes megadome & planetarium shows. The Planetarium will be closed though Jan 2-9 though.
One of the Taubman's exhibits is Pens and Needles: Drawings for Tattoos
(Nov 8, 2008 - Mar 8, 2009).
Friday, Feb. 20, The Hackensaw Boys are playing The Lantern. Go hear them!
Also, our fantastic English Dept. reading series has 2 amazing poets visiting:
Matthea Harvey is reading on Friday, Feb 6 (7:00 PM, Volume II Bookstore) & Terrance Hayes is reading on Monday, March 2 (7:00 PM, Volume II Bookstore).
And far, far ahead, on Nov. 29, 2009, a guy I went to Dartmouth with will be exhibiting his prints at the Taubman (Jumpstart and Holler: Mike Houston and Martin Mazzora - November 29, 2009-February 7, 2010).
